What
is a One-Name Study?
A
one-name study is defined as "A project researching all occurrences of
a surname,
as opposed to a particular pedigree (ancestors of one person) or
descendancy
(descendants of one person or couple)."
Aims
of the Study
The
aim of this one-name study is to gather and provide access to
information on
the surname and variants from any available source
worldwide.
I
have been researching the surname and its variants for over 10
years. In that
time I have received extensive help and input from researchers
both
in the
UK and overseas. With their help I have built up a large
database of references
to these surnames from a variety of sources.
I
do not intend to make the database available on the internet but
I am very
happy to share information with anyone and to search the database
for
particular individuals. While I try to ensure the accuracy of all the material
I hold, no
responsibility is accepted for it and researchers are
advised to check original
sources.
Want to know more?
If you are descended from a
Broadhurst/Broadhouse (or variants) would you like
to know more about your branch of the family?
I hold a large database
relating to over 15,000
individuals including
Birth, Marriage and
Death
registrations, (mainly UK, also Australia, USA, Canada)
Census details,
Family trees
Wills and obituaries
Criminal
records
WW1
and WWII documents and
many
other miscellaneous items from around the world.
Can you help?
All references
sought - worldwide -
any-time.
If you have any
information on the
Broadhursts, Broadhouses or variants
however
small, wherever in the world, whenever
in time - it will be gratefully received.
