What is a One-Name Study?

A one-name study is defined as "A project researching all occurrences of a

surname, as opposed to a particular pedigree (ancestors of one person) or

descendancy (descendants of one person or couple)."

Aims of the Study

The aim of this one-name study is to gather and provide access to information

on the surname and variants from any available source worldwide.

I have been researching the surname and its variants for over 10 years.  In

that time I have received extensive help and input from researchers both in

the UK and overseas.  With their help I have built up a large database of

references to these surnames from a variety of sources.

I do not intend to make the database available on the internet but I am

very happy to share information with anyone and to search the database

for particular individuals. While I try to ensure the accuracy of all the

material I hold, no responsibility is accepted for it and researchers are

advised to check original sources.
